PASCOAG FIRE CHIEF (Part-Time)
Job Vacancy:
The Pascoag Fire District is seeking a part-time (24 hrs/week) Fire Chief to manage the Pascoag Fire Department. The Department responds to approximately 1500 fire/medical calls annually operating out of two strategically located fire stations within Pascoag. The Pascoag Fire Department is a full-service department, qualified in every aspect of emergency services staffed by 6 full time, 12 part time (per diem), and approximately 40 volunteer Fire/EMS personnel.
Job Summary:
Under direction of the Pascoag Board of Fire Commissioners, the Fire Chief is the head of the Fire Department managing all department operations, resources (facilities/equipment), personnel, and day-to-day fire suppression and emergency medical operations. The Fire Chief works closely with community leaders and other internal and external department leaders to ensure the safety of the citizens of Pascoag.
Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:
- Associates Degree in Fire Science, Management, Public Administration or any equivalent combination of education, training, and work experience
- Minimum of ten (10) years progressive fire service experience with minimum of five (five) years in a senior command position (Captain or above)
- Comprehensive knowledge of fire administration, including organization, staffing, financing, equipment management and maintenance, records and reports
- Minimum Professional Certifications: Firefighter Level II and Basic EMT
- Possess a valid drivers license.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Fire Officer I Certification
- Fire Instructor II Certification
- Fire Department Safety Officer certified within one (1) year of employment
