Barrington - FIREFIGHTER /EMT

• The Barrington Fire Department is seeking qualified applicants for the position of FIREFIGHTER/ EMT.  The individual should demonstrate good moral character and judgement, possess the ability to handle high pressure situations, and demonstrate good problem-solving and leadership skills. The Town of Barrington's Fire Department is an integral part of the public safety system in the Town and continually strives to provide a caring, courteous and a highly competent Fire and Rescue Emergency Service. We service over 17,000 residents and a small business district in town.  With over 19 miles of Coastline, Barrington is known as a seaside community with a beautiful town beach and five marinas.  Salary:  $64,543.39 with regular step increases to $78,735.75 in 24 months

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS TO APPLY:

•  Must be 18-years old at the time of your application.
•  High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
• Active and Valid Motor Vehicle Driver's License & Good Driving Record.
• Clean Criminal History
•  Current Nationally Registered EMT License or higher.
• Must pass the RI Fire Chiefs  (RIAFC) Physical Performance Assessment (PPA)  within the past year;   Only RIAFC  Physical Performance Assessments DATED   APRIL 2025 and   OCTOBER 2025 will be accepted.   
• Candidates  must pass the RI Fire Chiefs (RIAFC) Written Exam- with a minimum score of 70%.score to be considered for employment.  There is a RIAFC WRITTEN EXAM scheduled for Saturday- November 08, 2025.  

 REQUIRED DOCUMENTS:

• THE FOLLOWING DOCUMENTATION MUST BE SUBMITTED WITH YOUR APPLICATION
• Birth Certificate or US Passport or Naturalization Papers.
• Active and Valid Drivers license
• High School Diploma or GED Certificate
• Active and valid EMT-Basic License or higher 
• Current Rhode Island Fire Chiefs Written Exam Test Certificate issued by the RI Fire Chiefs Association.
• -Current Rhode Island Fire Chiefs PPE Testing Certificate Issued by the RI Fire Chiefs Association.

• Firefighter EMT Salary: $64,543.39- after 24-months increases to $78,735.75.
