Westport Fire Department

Westport Fire Department protects the life and property of the residents and visitors of the Town from fire and other life-threatening hazards. The Fire Department is also responsible for enforcing laws, ordinances, and regulations relating to fire prevention and fire safety. The department operates from 4 fire stations. With our sworn and civilian staff, the department provides fire prevention and education services, code compliance inspections, fire investigation, and emergency management for the Town of Westport. The department also responds to medical emergencies, technical rescues, hazardous material releases, and all fire emergencies. Led by the Chief of the Department, the Emergency Services Division operates four shifts. Each shift has an Assistant Fire Chief who leads a platoon of fourteen officers and firefighters. The Chief also leads the Fire Prevention Division, headed by the Fire Marshal, as well as the Office of Emergency Management, headed by the Deputy Chief.
