2025 FIRE RECRUITMENT DRIVE
The Rhode Island Airport Corporation fire department is seeking qualified applicants for the position of ARFF crewperson - EMT who demonstrates good judgement, an even temperament, respect and appreciate diversity, show creativity and problem-solving skills, think on their feet, handle pressure, and show leadership skills.
As a crewperson you will be part of a team that partners with local and federal agencies to ensure the safe travel for a dynamic air transportation hub which is vital to Rhode Island’s economy.
RI AIRPORT CORPORATION ARFF CREWPERSON APPLICATION QUALIFICATIONS:
- 1. Must be at least 18 years of age
- 2. High School Diploma or GED
- 3. Valid Driver’s License
- 4. Current CPAT or RI PPA (Required day one of hire)
- 5. NREMT-B or RI EMT-B License
- 6. Certified NFPA 1001 Firefighter 2 required with NFPA 1003 ARFF Firefighter preferred.
- 7. Previous documented fire service experience and training records shall be submitted with application.

7. Medical Examination
8. NFPA 1003 ARFF Academy unless completed
9. Probationary Period
10. Shift Assignment
SALARY AND BENEFITS:
- Starting salary as of February 1, 2025: $49,034-$73,130
- 12 paid holidays annually
- Medical, Dental, Vision and Prescription Coverage
- Stipend for health insurance waiver of $4,000
- 414H Plan (8% employee contribution, plus 8% company match), employee contributions vest immediately with employer contributions vested after 5 years of service, voluntary plans also available
- Clothing replacement and maintenance allowance
- Tuition Reimbursement
- Staffing consists of four rotating groups. The typical work week consists of a rotating schedule of 24 hours on, 24 hours off, 24 hours on, and 5 days off.
DOCUMENTS NEEDED:
Photocopy of valid driver's license.
Photocopy of high school diploma / GED.
Photocopy of current CPAT or RI PPA certificate (within 6 months of projected start date).
Photocopy Firefighters 2 Certificate.
Copy of RI EMT-B or NREMT-B License.
Proof of previous experience in volunteer, on-call, or career fire service.
