The Somerset Fire Department is a full-time, career fire department. The Department consists of 35 sworn personnel (all of which are certified at the Paramedic level), including 32 members assigned to four rotating shifts operating on a 24-hour schedule.
The Department provides a comprehensive range of emergency services, including fire suppression, Advanced Life Support (ALS) emergency medical services, marine rescue, technical rescue, hazardous materials response, fire prevention, code enforcement, and public fire education.
Minimum Requirements:
- Must be 18 years of age
- Must have a valid MA driver's License
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must be certified as a MA Paramedic at the time of appointment (EMTs are welcome to apply)
- Ability to pass background, medical and physical

- physical agility if not already career recruit trained
