Notice of Testing

The application process will close on March 15, 2024, at noon, OR when 100 applications have been received, whichever occurs first. Individuals are encouraged to read this entire announcement and job description prior to submitting an application. A non-refundable $85.00 application fee is required at time of application submission.

Applicants must be a U.S. citizens; high school diploma or equiv.; CT EMT certification; and valid driver’s license. Exam procedure includes a written test, oral board interview, and applicant must possess a valid CPAT card dates within one year at the time of written test. The eligibility list will be valid by the terms established by the Board of Fire Commissioners.

Applicants are required to read the Job Announcement and Firefighter/EMT Job Description links above. The Written Test has been tentatively scheduled for Saturday, April 20, 2024. This date is subject to change. Recommended reading list is as follows, Essentials of Firefighting 7th Edition, IFSTA, Fundamentals of Firefighter Skills 4th Edition, NFPA, Emergency Care Text, 13th Edition, Emergency Care Student Workbook, 13th Edition.
