About The Department

The North Haven Fire Department provides fire suppression, emergency medical services, hazardous materials response, and other rescue services to the Town of North Haven. The North Haven Fire Department currently consists of 40+ Career firefighters assigned to two stations with volunteer firefighters staffing an additional two stations. Fire Headquarters located at 11 Broadway facilitates administrative offices including fire inspectors/investigators.

The department remains heavily reliant upon volunteer firefighters for incident response which has seen a decline in volunteer membership from 105+ volunteers to approximately 20 volunteers over the last 10-15 years. The North Haven Fire Department maintains mutual aid relationships with all surrounding towns.

 

Our Mission

The North Haven Fire Department is dedicated to providing public safety services to our Citizens that result in an improved quality of life. Our job is to provide for, the protection of property from the adverse effects of fire, medical emergencies, and exposure to dangerous environments from either man-made or natural disasters.

As a team, we will strive to minimize losses and suffering through emergency service delivery, public information, and community service activities. We will provide services, and treat those in need, as well as each other, in a manner that is honest, fair, and unbiased. We are to honor our heritage, actively participate in our community, and serve with integrity. As a department, we will strive to support the individual development, personal satisfaction, and pride of all members. We will also uphold the unique camaraderie and trust that is expected from the Fire Service.
