The
City of Middletown is accepting applications from parties interested in a
career with the professional Middletown Fire
Department as an entry level Firefighter.
Applicants must have passed the Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT)
within the 2011 calendar year. Verification
of all required certifications must be provided at written exam registration. Applications must be submitted to www.FirefighterApp.com/Middletown
no later than Midnight on November
30, 2011. Date of Written Examination:
Sunday, December 4, 2011.
Eligibility Requirements;
Successful candidates shall
serve a probationary period of twelve (12) months beyond successful graduation
from the Connecticut State Fire Academy. As a condition of employment, all new
employees shall be certified by the State to the level of Firefighter 2 within
twenty-four (24) months of their date of hire, and shall be certified by the
State for the level of Pump Operator and Aerial Operator within thirty-six (36)
months of their date of hire.
The
examination process, which must be successfully completed in order to become a
Firefighter with the City of Middletown, will consist of the submission of a
completed application through www.FirefighterApp.com/Middletown;
a written examination, oral examination, oral interview, psychological
evaluation, a criminal background check and post-offer physical examination
which includes drug screening.
